Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2025-11-23
This Privacy Policy explains how Realmatch.Social (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, HUD/MOAP tools, avatar-connected devices, and related services. Realmatch.Social is an independent virtual-world dating platform owned and operated by Virtual World Search Inc.
1. Who we are
Realmatch.Social is a dating and social discovery service designed for virtual worlds such as Second Life and OpenSim-based grids. We operate a dedicated region in Second Life known as Real Match and plan to support additional grids starting in 2026.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially recognized by Second Life or Linden Lab, or by any OpenSim grid operator. Your use of those platforms remains governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Contact details (for example, email address) when you sign up or join an early-access list.
- Avatar or screen names and unique identifiers used in Second Life or other virtual worlds (for example, an avatar UUID linked to your Realmatch.Social account).
- Profile information such as interests, activities, what you are looking for, personality, communication preferences, and “about me” details.
- Connection preferences and settings (for example, what types of relationships or activities you are open to).
- Gallery content, including images or texture UUIDs that you upload or attach to your public or private galleries, as well as images you send to or receive from other members.
- Gift and wishlist information (for example, items you add to your wishlist, gifts you send or receive, and optional notes associated with those actions).
- Optional safety information you choose to share during verification or when making a report about another user.
- Messages or feedback you send to us (for support or general contact).
2.2 Information collected automatically from the website
When you use our website or HUD-based web views, we may automatically collect:
- Basic technical data (browser type, device type, approximate region, IP address).
- Usage data (pages viewed, buttons clicked, time spent on the site or in a HUD panel).
- Log data (error logs, security logs, and performance data) to maintain and improve our services.
2.3 Information collected via HUDs, in-world tools, and apps
When you use our HUD/MOAP tools or in-world devices that are part of Realmatch.Social, we may collect:
- Your avatar name and, where technically available, a unique avatar identifier (such as a UUID).
- Basic session and usage information (for example, when you activate the HUD, check in at a partnered venue, or interact with Realmatch.Social menus and features).
- Non-exact location context such as which supported region, club, or Real Match area you are in when using our tools (for example, “Real Match — Lounge”, “Real Match — Speed Dating Wing”, or a partner venue).
- Event participation data (for example, that you attended a Realmatch.Social event, speed dating session, or used a reserved date table).
- Basic badge and reward progress (for example, that a badge was earned or a step toward a badge was completed).
We use this information to operate matching features, show presence or “active” indicators, support rewards such as Game Tokens (GTs), and improve our services.
2.4 Game Tokens (GTs) and wallet activity
Realmatch.Social uses a closed-loop virtual reward currency called Game Tokens (GTs). When you earn or spend GTs, we may collect and store:
- Your GT balance and transaction history (for example, earned from daily login or spent on a gift).
- Context of transactions (for example, that you used GTs for a gift, date package, speed dating ticket, or other supported feature).
GTs cannot be converted into L$, real money, or any other cashable currency. They are used only for entertainment, access to experiences, and in-platform features.
2.5 Safety, reporting, and enforcement information
To keep Realmatch.Social safe and reduce scams, harassment, and abuse, we may process:
- Reports and complaints that users submit about other users or content.
- Information you voluntarily provide in a report, including any screenshots or text you choose to share.
- Internal flags, notes, and decisions made by our moderation team (for example, warnings, suspensions, limits, or bans).
- Limited behavioral signals such as how often a user is blocked or reported, in order to detect patterns of misuse, harassment, or false reporting.
We do not access or monitor private in-world instant messages between you and others on platforms like Second Life. We only review information you choose to submit to us.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account or early-access registration.
- Provide matching, discovery, and social features between users in virtual worlds.
- Operate HUDs, check-ins, event tools, galleries, badge systems, and optional reward systems such as Game Tokens.
- Track and display connection statuses (for example, connection requests, accepted connections, and cancelled connections).
- Show and maintain your public profile, badges, and public gallery where you have chosen to share them.
- Communicate with you about service updates, new features, safety topics, and support.
- Analyze usage to improve and secure our website, HUDs, and related services.
- Detect, investigate, and act on misuse, fraud, harassment, or other violations of our terms or community guidelines.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Messages and communications privacy
Realmatch.Social is built around trust and a connection-first model. Messaging and certain features are only available between active connections to help reduce spam and harassment.
- If our tools offer in-app messaging or communication, we may store those messages so that they can be delivered to recipients and displayed to you, similar to other messaging services.
- We may store limited metadata (such as sender, recipient, and timestamps) to operate the service, troubleshoot delivery issues, and prevent spam.
- We do not automatically read or analyze your private conversation content for advertising or behavioral profiling.
- We do not have access to or control over your private instant messages inside platforms like Second Life or on OpenSim grids. Those messages are governed by the platform’s own systems and policies.
- If you choose to submit screenshots or message excerpts as part of a safety report, our team may review only that material for moderation and safety purposes.
5. Photo galleries and shared content
Realmatch.Social allows you to upload or reference images for your profile and galleries. These may include:
- Public gallery images visible on your profile to other members.
- Private gallery images that are only visible to you.
- Images or texture UUIDs you send to or receive from other members.
We may store these images, the associated metadata (such as upload date, folder type, and who uploaded them), and information about who can see them (for example, public vs. private vs. shared with a connection).
6. Image moderation and content safety
To keep Realmatch.Social suitable for adults who prefer a “no drama, no explicit content” experience, we may use automated tools to check images you upload (such as profile photos, event images, or gallery uploads) for nudity, sexually explicit content, extreme violence, or other material that violates our rules.
- We may use third-party AI-based content moderation services acting as our processors. These services analyze images only to help us detect prohibited or high-risk content.
- Images that appear to contain disallowed content may be blocked, blurred, queued for review, or removed in line with our community guidelines.
- We do not use image moderation results to target advertising, and we do not sell this information.
7. Legal basis (where applicable)
Depending on your location, we may rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Your consent (for example, joining an email list or providing profile details).
- Legitimate interests (for example, improving our service, supporting safety, or preventing abuse).
- Compliance with legal obligations.
8. Cookies and tracking
We may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how our site and HUD-based web views are used. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.
9. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited information with:
- Service providers that help us run our website, HUDs, messaging, moderation systems, email system, or analytics tools.
- Other sites or applications owned by Virtual World Search Inc. when clearly connected to Realmatch.Social features (for example, shared GT balances or account status across compatible experiences), while still observing the closed, non-cashable nature of GTs.
- Authorities, if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public, or to respond to valid legal processes.
10. Virtual worlds and in-world activity
Realmatch.Social may link your account or profile to virtual-world identifiers such as a Second Life avatar name, avatar UUID, or other platform IDs. While we may use these identifiers to support matching, HUD features, attendance tracking, GT rewards, and badges, we do not control Second Life, OpenSim grids, or any other platform.
Your use of those platforms remains governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not have access to your platform account password or direct access to your private in-world IM logs.
11. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain legitimate business records, support safety and enforcement, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
If you request deletion of your account (when full accounts are enabled), we will remove or de-identify your data where reasonably possible, subject to legal, safety, or technical limits (for example, we may retain certain records to prevent fraud, track ban evasion, or comply with law).
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no system can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted or stored electronically.
13. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Request corrections to inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of certain information.
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights (when available), contact us using the email provided below.
14. Age requirements
Realmatch.Social is intended for adults only. You must be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your region) to use our service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors, and we will remove information if we learn that it belongs to someone under the required age.
15. International users
Our services may be accessed from different countries. By using Realmatch.Social, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate. Those locations may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws in your country.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
